Instant Pot

Ok mommies so if you have never heard of an electronic pressurized cooker you need to step your game up! They are literally life changing especially when you’re busy with little ones like me and have no time to really cook.

So a few months back my aunt had called me about this amazing pressure cooker that she bought on an infomercial she was watching. She raved about making beans in less than 30 minutes and that they were cooked to perfection and taste great. Usually a process that can take a few hours on your regular stove top. I thought she was over exaggerating to be honest. So that weekend we celebrated my moms 50th birthday and she said she was going to make dinner on her pressure cooker which consisted of a beef stew and white rice. All I have to say was, WOW!!! Everything was done in less than an hour, my kitchen was still clean and the food tasted amazing! Of course after this I wanted one.

I then would tell family and friends about it. I had told my husband that I was going buy one and of course he was like, “It’s just another gadget you probably wont use.” Well he was wrong let me tell you! So a few weeks later I received a shipment with my new Instant Pot DUO60 7-in-1 Multi-Use!!! I couldn’t believe it! My husband’s sweet cousin had sent me one. I honestly can’t even remember what I cooked in it first. But so far I’ve made BBQ ribs, to rice, chicken, beef stew and even a New York cheese cake! Yes you read that right! And OMG does it taste amazing. Let me tell you, yes yes it does!!! It’s so easy and just not as time consuming. I don’t know what I would do without it now. The possibilities on it are endless! You can even make yogurt! Crazy right! I haven’t made any yet but it’s definitely on my list.

My go to website for recipes is, thisoldgal. Her cheesecake recipes are perfection and basically anything else you decide to make in it. I sometimes just experiment. My go to is usually just chicken and rice since my daughter loves it. I basically throw in some rice, two cups of low sodium chicken broth, some spices, a little olive oil , (then I swirl it, to mix it in) a couple of chicken breast and hit the poultry button and just let it do its thing! It takes 24 minutes to completely cook, meanwhile I can tend to the girls or do dishes or whatever, really. There is even a huge group on Facebook that is very helpful with tips, recipes and so much more. I definitely encourage you to join it.

Since I’ve had my Insta-Pot I probably make dinner on it about 3-4 times a week. It gives me the freedom to spend more quality time with my girls instead of hovering over the stove making sure my food doesn’t burn. It’s an investment you won’t regret. I hope that I’ve convinced you on the greatest invention of my time and you for yourself try it out and love it as much as I do. And if you are already an owner of one, what are your favorite go to recipes? I would love to hear about it.

Xoxo,

Magaly

  1. Magita…You old crazy chick…now you got me wanting an Insta-Pot!!!! Don’t get me wrong I still love my crock pot but to be able to have a nutritious meal on the table in less than 30 minutes is gold to me especially after working out. Thanks for letting me know and will most definitely invest in one.
