Living Room Update Part 1

Let’s talk living space guys. So, we’ve done some changes in our living room as of recently and it’s been great this far. But before that happened let me tell you guys that we were scared for life to get any new furniture because well, life with two toddlers!

Steven and I have been living together for 10 years now! (So crazy right!) And little by little we have made out homes we lived in homey, if that makes any sense? Our last couch was actually a hand me down and it lasted us over 7 years! It was just one of those couches you didn’t want to get rid of but it was definitely time, it had run its course.

When we were looking for a new couch, we knew from the get-go that we wanted something slick and modern. We wanted something that was grey to match our new rug from RugsUSA, our furniture and most importantly we wanted something comfy. Something that if we wanted to spend all night watching movies with the girls or even if we had guest over staying the night that we had something they can sleep on. We came across DHP Furniture and immediately fell in love with their Pin Tufted transitional futon in grey. When you first look at this couch you would never guess that it was a futon. It’s a perfect size for our living room and it has actually freed up tons of room for the girls to play in. It also has brightened up our living room. Which is fantastic to be able wake up or walk into a bright room in the morning or at any time of day really. We also love that it looks like a real adult couch! Very sophisticated and chic.

The set up was really easy as well! Steven was able to build it within 30 minutes or so. The girls are obsessed with it, especially Madison. The first thing she does every morning when she wakes up is goes and lays on it and she reminds us how much she loves her new couch. They have also learned that when they want to sit in the living room and have a snack that they have to sit in their little table and that before sitting on the couch they have to have clean hands. It’s so fascinating watching them actually caring for this couch versus how our last one looked. So, this has made us realized that it is ok to have nice furniture even with toddlers. That we were paranoid for no reason at all and that obviously they too, like nice things.

This couch/futon has definitely brought our room together. You guys must check DHP Furniture and see all their other great pieces at great prices as well. Now the most exciting part of it all is, decorating the living room with some frames and other accessories!

Xoxo,

Magaly
