DIY Toddler Garment Rack

Being a girl mom comes with a lot glitter and princess dresses. Playing
dress up with them is my favorite thing to do! Mainly because I get to relieve my childhood days with my girls and to see them in the zone, acting like their favorite princesses makes everything more magical. Sometimes we pretend to be Belle and the Beast other days we are Elsa and Anna. No matter what dress or costume we decide to wear it is always an adventure with these two!

Typically, after we are done playing a lot of their play dresses end up in
their toy bin. This causes the dresses some damage like snags, missing buttons, etc. We definitely don’t want to be princesses with missing accessories, right!? One day it hit me, and I knew wanted something that was going keep their dresses organized and also something that was going to help with making them last longer but I also wanted it to be accessible to them. I wanted a garment rack for them. We did some research online and to our surprise kid garment racks were pricey compared to an adult one. I then showed Steven what I had in mind and we decided that it was best that we make one ourselves.

Just call me Carrie Bradshaw

Next thing you know we were heading to Home Depot to pick up all of the
material to start this project. This rack cost us about $35. It took us about
an hour and a half to make and let me tell you, it has made dress up time so
much more fun!

Things you will need to create your own garment rack:

2 pieces of 8ft 4’’x1’’

1 – 1inch by 4ft Round Wooden Stick

2 – 3inch lag screw

White paint or color of your choice (optional)

String (optional)

So, there you have it! A very easy and inexpensive DIY. I’m always up for a good DIY project and this was one of my favorites. You can always make it custom to your liking. Like adding more color or leave it as is, putting the string or leaving it out. The possibilities are endless. I personally wanted something simple and dainty, and I believe I was able to achieve that look. What do you guys think?
