Bedroom Makeover; A Toddler’s Dream Room

The most anticipated room makeover is finally here everyone! The girls’ room is something I dreamed of having when I was little and to be able to bring it to life for them has been so rewarding and such a blessing. During this whole process I realized what the power of a small paint job can do to a room and how the little details added on afterwards can bring a whole room to life.

As you guys know my girls shared their room as well as their bed. They both have very different personalites but at the end of the day they are both as girly girls as they can be. To begin the original colors of the room were pink and gray with the white trim in the middle. There was just so much PINK in it! Not only were the walls pink but their toy furniture was pink as well, their covers and basically everything else in thier room. I wanted to give it a fresh new look. I wanted the walls to look clean, simple and to have just a subtle hint of pink, since it is their favorite color after all.

The first thing I bought was the paint. I went with BEHR MARQUEE Interior Eggshell paint. I purchased two gallons of white and one of the light grey for the entire room. After the room was completely painted, I ordered some modernmaxwell, Emmy Wall Decals. This was to give one of the walls the pop of pink I was looking for. These flowers were exactly what I had invision. Plus, I didn’t want to commit to painting anythig else on the walls. I want to have the freedom of switching it up if I want to without having to redo the walls.

The big bookshelf obviously had to go. It was so worn out, but we still wanted the books in the room. These floating shelves from Ikea did the trick. I love the idea of switching out the books by season instead of having them pile up in a corner. The “homework station” as I like to call was such a last-minute thing. I saw this table at Ikea while getting the shelves and I knew it would be perfect for the girls’ room. Its super simple, inexpensive and easy to clean. The small area rug came from Home Goods as well as their color pencil holder. The lounge chair I got at Target. At first, I wasn’t sure about it but now its super convenient when I am in there reading with them or folding their laundry.

And last but not least let’s talk about the bed frame, which is my absolute favorite and the bedding! The house bed frame came from Coco Village. They seriously have the cutest bed frames and toys. The bed itself is really sturdy and so beautifully made. I’ve even asked the girls if I can move in, Maya’s response is the cutest with her “Suuuurrreee!” The bedding came from Amazon. It super inexpensive and it looks amazing in person. The rest of the pillows and dolls came from Nanahuchy. The girls have had these for a while but they were stored away. I thought this was the perfect time to bring them out. They go perfectly with their room.

I am so proud of this room and just seeing how much they love it makes it all worth it! The whole process took me about a month, with work and of course two toddlers. But overall I love that they get to start the year with a fresh room. What do you guys think? And also, did you have a dream room growing up? Let me know below. Also keep scrolling down for a quick DIY tip on the girls’ wreath.

And now that the holidays are here we’ve added additional decorations.
DIY Wreath: This was such a simple wreath to make. Bought a $5 wreath at Michael’s, sprayed it with fake snow, and added one of the Nanahuchy dolls to the middle of it. You can replace it with anything your little one loves. Even add the Elf of the shelf to it.
