When Life Gives You Lemons, Donate

As a child I was always in and out of the hospital for my own disability, Crohn’s Disease. I remember sharing rooms for months with the sweetest kids ever. Some of who had cancer. Since that time in my life I always knew the importance of giving back and I wanted to do my part. Either by volunteering my time at the hospital or I would save up my allowance and donate it to causes that mattered to me the most. Till this day I still have the same perspective and although I am now much busier than before I still love donating and teaching my girls about the importance of these foundations.

Enjoying some Rainbow Lemonades
It’s always nice to have a lunch date with them.

This is why I absolutely love Applebee’s! Not only do I love them for their delicious food, but I also love that they support Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. Now through Sunday, August 11, Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill + Bar is teaming up with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation to take a stand against childhood cancers in a month-long fundraising campaign. Since 2005, Applebee’s restaurants have raised more than $8 million to fund childhood cancer research. Learn more about Applebee’s and their support for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation here.

Thisyear, Applebee’s hopes to hit a grand total of $10 million raised as theystrive to make a difference in neighborhoods across the country. This is such a great way to give back to such an amazing cause and also enjoy a good time while eating out. It is super easy to support this foundation by simply purchasing a lemon-shaped pin-up card in $1 and $5 increments or you can purchase a Lemonade Quencher, Rainbow Lemonade or regular lemonade. We ordered Rainbow lemonades and trust me, they were delicious! We also bought a few of the Lemon Shaped pin up cards and got to write our names on it. The girls enjoyed doing that!

If you are unable to make it in, no worries my friends! You can still contribute by visiting Applebees.com/AlexsLemonade to learn about additional ways to join in the fundraising efforts. There is absolutely no better feeling in the world than donating to a cause like this and also to be able to teach my girls at such a young age to give back.
