Last year I got the amazing opportunity to create these for a feature post over at Disney Parks blog. Till this day it’s still one of my favorite crafts I’ve made and I had to share it with you guys. So have fun creating and make sure to tag me over on Instagram.

Things you will need:

Red, black and white stock paper

Glue gun

Scissors

Pencil

Ruler

Hole puncher (Optional)

Mason Jars (I used a small plastic mason jar but you can use any size for this.)

*If you’re making Minnie you will need ribbon to make bows.

Instructions:

Step 1

First you want to make strips of your red stock paper. I used a ruler to measure it and draw a faint line to guide me when it comes to cutting it out. I made my strips 2 inches tall and 6 inches across. You then take your strip and place it around the jar. Then use your hot glue gun to glue the strip together on the end. Hold down for 10 seconds.

Step 2

For your buttons you can use a hole puncher or use something round to trace around your white stock paper for the buttons and the black stock paper for the ears. I personally used a hole puncher for my buttons (5/8 in/ 1.59cm) and a small cookie cutter (they are about 2 inches in diameter) to trace the black stock paper for my ears. Then you want to cut just a small part on each side of the ears to slide and glue on the side of the mason jars lid. Also glue your white circles onto the red strip.

Step 3

For the Minnie option, you can purchase bows made already or make your own with ribbon. I used a wired ribbon which helped shaped that perfect Minnie bow. Once you have your bow ready, you will hot glue that onto the ears.

Step 4

This is completely optional. My lids came with a small hole in them so I could turn them into ornaments by simply adding a cute string to them. If your lids don’t have stings and you have a drill at home, you can drill a small hole and make them into ornaments. But like I said this is completely optional.

Step 5

Fill with your favorite treats! I personally love gifting homemade decorated sugar cookies! But the possibilities are endless with these cute jars. You can do a mixture of hot cocoa, brownie mix, fill it with candy, anything your heart really desires!
